POSTDOCS
There are a number of fellowship opportunities to join the lab.
Durham: IAS Fellowship, Addison Wheeler Fellowship
National: Wellcome Trust Early Career Awards, Newton International Fellowship
International: EMBO, HFSP, Branco Weiss, L’Oréal-UNESCO, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral fellowship
PHD STUDENTS
Local PhD studentships can be obtained both at the departmental and at the Faculty level (Durham Doctoral Studentships)
Deadlines are usually in January, thus it is best to get in touch by November or December.

External opportunities to join the lab as a PhD student include:
MASTERS STUDENTS
You can carry out a 1-year research project in the lab by applying to the department's MRes programme. There are a number of scholarships that could fund this programmes.

You could also carry out a shorter project in the lab as part of the Psychology taught Masters programmes (for instance, the MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience).
​
International students could do an internship in the lab via the new Turing Scheme.
RESEARCH ASSISTANT PLACEMENTS
It is possible to carry out 6-10 week summer research placements in the lab. Possible sources of funding for this include:
Experimental Psychology Society (deadline typically in March)
Wellcome Trust (applications open in February)
The Physiological Society (deadline typically in March)
Nuffield (deadline typically in October) or the Laidlaw Leadership Research Programme.
Durham Psychology undergraduates can also also carry out a placement through the Department’s Research Assistant Scheme.
